10 years Later

You call me on the telephone

We talk for 2 hours,

And I fall for you all over again,

Hook, Line and Sinker.

It’s not what you say

That reels me in.

It’s the way you suck your cigarette

In the long silences.

Your breathy giggle

Bubbles in my spine,

Ripples from throat to thigh.

Leaving me awash

This romantic friendship

Shows no abatement

We remain connected, by kisses

Past and present
