Gay UK: Love, Law and Liberty British Library Exhibition

2 June @ 8:00 am - 19 September @ 5:00 pm

From the trial of Oscar Wilde to the Same Sex Marriage Act, this exhibition explores, through personal testimony, public protest, art and culture, our rich and diverse LGBTQ+ history.

50 years after the sexual offence act partially decriminalised homosexuality, has legislation become the foundation for which distinct gay identities have emerged?

The LGBT Poet Laureate will be creating and performing event-specific poetry at the launch (1st June) of the British Library’s Gay UK: Love, Law, Liberty.
